Community Health Systems, Inc. is a leading operator of general acute care hospitals and outpatient facilities in communities across the U.S. Its hospitals are general care hospitals offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical services like general acute care, emergency room, general and specialty surgery, critical care, internal medicine, obstetrics, diagnostic, psychiatric and rehabilitation services. Some of its hospitals provide skilled nursing and home care services based on individual community needs. Community Health provides outpatient services at urgent care centers, occupational medicine clinics, imaging centers, cancer centers and ambulatory surgery centers. The company generates revenues through general and specialized hospital healthcare services and outpatient services to patients in the communities. The healthcare provider pursues a portfolio rationalization and deleveraging strategy as a result of which it continues to divest hospitals and non-hospital businesses.
