World Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions 1990-2024

Total greenhouse gas emissions in kt of CO2 equivalent are composed of CO2 totals excluding short-cycle biomass burning (such as agricultural waste burning and Savannah burning) but including other biomass burning (such as forest fires, post-burn decay, peat fires and decay of drained peatlands), all anthropogenic CH4 sources, N2O sources and F-gases (HFCs, PFCs and SF6).
  • World greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2020 was 46,120,921.47, a 4.09% decline from 2019.
  • World greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2019 was 48,089,616.91, a 0.04% increase from 2018.
  • World greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2018 was 48,069,812.64, a 2.2% increase from 2017.
  • World greenhouse gas (ghg) emissions for 2017 was 47,035,210.47, a 1.61% increase from 2016.
