Sonic Automotive is one of the leading automotive retailers in the U.S. Apart from selling new and used cars and light trucks, the company offers warranties, service contracts, vehicle financing and insurance. It provides maintenance and repair services, and sells replacement parts and aftermarket automotive products. Each sale of a new or used vehicle provide customers with financing and insurance options and help the firm earn financing fees and insurance and other aftermarket product commissions. Sonic Automotive operates through 2 reportable units: Franchised Dealerships & EchoPark. The Franchised Dealerships unit comprises retail automotive franchises selling new and used vehicles, replacement parts and vehicle repair and maintenance services, and finance and insurance products. The EchoPark unit, which operates independently from the franchised dealerships business, sells used cars and light trucks and arranges F&I product sales for the customers in pre-owned vehicle specialty retail locations.
